Trek from Labrang monastery to kumbum monastery

The most three famous monasteries: Labrang and Kumbum, the Tangka arts’ hometown of Tibetan Buddhism (Rebkong artist village), Tibetan nomad, villages, Namzong Nunnery, Kokonor Lake Tibetan Unique Culture.
 

 

Programme:(Peking to Peking)

 

 

19 days Itinerary

Day01: Fly to Peking, Visit the Heavenly Temple and the old City. Night in Peking


Day02: Visit the historical Forbidden City and fly to Lanzhou. Night in Peking


Day03: Bus to Xiahe (2900 m), a Tibetan town is called the small Tibet in Amdo area. Night in Xiahe


Day04: Visit the monastery at Labrang, constructed in 1709 by the premier Jamyang Zhepa, with 1300 monks at that time. Night in Xiahe


Day05: Depart for trekking from Ritrotong to Sechentang (3200 m), a pass is about 3500 m. Trek 6 hours’ in the whole day. Camp in 3400 m’s altitude


Day06: After breakfast trekking into the big and long valley to Chadangka. On the way, our professional guide will lead you visit some local Tibetans’ tents and have a taste the local food. Trek 6 hours’ in the whole day. Camp in 3500 m’s altitude


Day07: Pass the Chadangka mountain pass (4100m) and trek to Luchutang. On the way to Nudangka you’ll see lots of sheep, yaks and horses and some religious auspicious things. Trek on the very nice and wide grassland as on a very comfortable carpet. Trek 7 hours’ in the whole day. Camp in 3400 m’s altitude


Day08: Pass 13 small mountains pass and arrive in a Tibetan village. On the way, sightsee on the small mountains covered with grasses and various flowers. Trek 6 hours’ in the whole day. Camp in 3150 m’s altitude

 

Day09: Go down from the mountain to Regong Tibetan Town(2650m). Regong Tibetan Town is called the hometown of Tibetan Tangka arts. After lunch to go visit Longwu Monastery. It is one of the six biggest monasteries of Tibetan Buddhism in Qinghai Province with 500 monks. Night in Huangnan Hotel

 

Day10: Pass the mountain pass (3100 m) behind the Longwu Monastery and go into the Chadong valley. Sightsee the local people and houses, arrive Danggeyima Monastery. Camp near a river in front of the Danggeyima Monastery (2700 m). Trek 5hours’ in the whole day.

 

Day11: Go up the mountain, pass the mountain pass (3500 m) and cross part of Lancai Forest. Arrive Yeshijiong Monastery in the afternoon. Yeshijiong Monastery is located on the middle of a mountain in the forest with (150monks). It looks very nice. Trek 6 hours’ in the whole day. Camp in the monastery with 3000m’s altitude

 

Day12: Trek down from Yeshijiong Monastery, pass several village and come to the Tibetan village of Nulong. Trek 6 hours’ in the whole day. Camp near a river with 3500 m’s altitude

 

Day13: Go up the Xiarong Mountain, pass a very large grassland (3600 m), sightsee the very nice landscapes and come to the Xiarong Valley. Trek 7 hours’ in the whole day. Camp in 3300m’s altitude

 

Day14: Go on another very big grassland, pass three mountains and come to the Lamodeqian Monastery (300monks). Trek 6 hours’ in the whole day. Camp in the monastery with 3200 m’s altitude

 

Day15: trek down the Lamodeqian Mountain to Jianzha County (2000 m), sightsee the very nice red and blue landscapes and overlook the Yellow River from the mountain (3h). After lunch bus to visiting Zhihe Monastery (2h) and bus to Lijiaxia. Night in Lijiaxia Hotel

 

Day16: Boat to visit Nanzong Valley. You’ll sightsee the very nice red landscapes and visit two Monasteries and one very famous Nunnery (200 nuns) in the Valley in the morning. Boat back to Lijiaxia and bus to Xining City (2261m) in the afternoon. Night in Xining

 

Day17: After breakfast bus to visit Kumbum Monastery (The birthplace of Tsongkhapa ,the Gelugpa’s founder of Tibetan Buddhism. It was founded 1473) and bus to Korkornor Lake to visit Baifo Monastery. Camp in the Monastery with 3200 m’s altitude

 

Day18: Amuse ourselves in the sands near the Korkornor Lake and bus back to Xining City in the afternoon. Night in Xining

 

Day19: Fly to Peking

Day01: fly to Lanzhou and visit the Provincial Museum. Night in Lanzhou

Day13: Go on another very big grassland, pass three mountains and come to the Lamodeqian Monastery (300monks). Trek 6 hours’ in the whole day. Camp in the monastery with 3200 m’s altitude

 

Day14: trek down the Lamodeqian Mountain to Jianzha County (2000 m), sightsee the very nice red and blue landscapes and overlook the Yellow River from the mountain (3h). After lunch bus to visiting Zhihe Monastery (2h) and bus to Lijiaxia. Night in Lijiaxia Hotel

 

Day15: Boat to visit Nanzong Valley. You’ll sightsee the very nice red landscapes and visit two Monasteries and one very famous Nunnery (200 nuns) in the Valley in the morning. Boat back to Lijiaxia and bus to Xining City (2261m) in the afternoon. Night in Xining

 

Day16: After breakfast bus to visit Kumbum Monastery (The birthplace of Tsongkhapa ,the Gelugpa’s founder of Tibetan Buddhism. It was founded 1473) and bus to Korkornor Lake to visit Baifo Monastery. Camp in the Monastery with 3200 m’s altitude

 

Day17: Amuse ourselves in the sands near the Korkornor Lake and bus back to Xining City in the afternoon. Night in Xining

 

Day18: Fly to Peking

Walk 5---7 hours per day

Climate: continental, temperate from June to September
Hotel and camp : Very clear and standard hotel from Lanzhou to Peking (Including Peking, Lanzhou, Xiahe, Lijiaxia, Regong, Kumbum) . For the camping we’ll supply automatic air cushion, waterproof cushion, kitchen tent, dining tent, toilet tent, small chair, cooking utensils, tableware, candles, toilet paper and so on.
Guests’ handy: sleeping tent, sleeping bag, raincoat, some medicine for themselves, flashlight, camera and so on.
