Shamans, or “Lhawa” in Tibetan, are average individuals whose bodies are inhabited by a god at specified times of year. Through the medium of the shaman, the god then advises local people on how to maintain safety and good fortune. Special shaman's festivals are held at which villagers gather to hear the advice of the shaman. Ritual dancing and play- acting by villagers are also part of these festivals. On this trip, you will witness several shaman's festivals occurring in various villages, travel to monasteries, and visit thangka (religious painting) schools.

150 kilometers from Lanzhou, the Thousand Buddha Caves of Bingling Temple is on the Jishi Hill. Boating from the nearby Liujiaxia Dam, one of China's hydropower dams, for 20 minutes by boat, you can see the temple which like Dunhuang Modao grottoes is famous in China. After visiting return to bus and continue to Xiahe.
drive to Repkong after visiting Labrang monastery.
On the way you will pass the beautiful grassland with numerous Yaks and sheep. Also you will visit the famous Tibetan Thangka painting schools known as Sangeshong Yagotsang which was founded in 1385 by Rebkong Kyalgon.
Drive to village Sakkyi(Lunar calender:18/June) and see the most famous Shaman’s festival.

The whole day experience some highlights of the Shaman Festival in the Langjia village:enjoy the dragon dance of the Shaman Festival and Kaishan rituals conducted by the shaman who also presides over the festival. Kaishan means "to cut an opening". Overnight at 3*Regong Hotel

Visit Saidzong monastery and drive to Madoi, Madoi is a high altitude city and the first town in the Yellow river source area.
